Isaiah: Hope or Hopelessness? Isaiah 2:1-22. Dr. Beall demonstrates how Isaiah intermingles judgment and hope throughout the book. Will you choose hope or hopelessness? We need to value the pursuit of the Lord and obedience to His Word far above all else.

Introduction to Isaiah: Sin, Judgment, and Salvation. Isaiah 1:1-31. Dr. Beall introduces Isaiah with background information and themes seen throughout the book. He then discusses the Lord's unflattering assessment of Israel. What is the Lord's assessment of us?

Communion: Commemoration of God's redemptive plan (Gen 3:15, Jn 3:16). Intimacy with God continued. Not only does intimacy with God produce peace, but it also produces joy (Phil 4:4). How do we rejoice continuously? While Jesus did not enjoy suffering, He rejoiced in being in the Father's will (Heb 12:2). The key to joy is understanding that God's plan is bigger than our circumstances. The greater the suffering, the greater the provision.

What is intimacy with God? In Jn 17:1-3, we see that eternal life is knowing God and therefore having intimacy with Him. God commands us to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all things (1 Thes 5:16-18). By keeping God's Word and remaining in constant prayer, we achieve intimacy with Him and also an unconditional peace that surpasses all understanding (Jn 15:27, Phil 4:7). How intimate with God are you?

Are you considering Jesus? We are to complete the works that God has set before us (Eph 2:10). We do this by constantly considering the Lord Jesus Christ so as not to grow weary (Heb 12:3). What are we to be considering? That our High Priest, who was made to be like us in all things, now sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for us (Heb 2:17-3:1). He suffered in all things (1 Jn 2:16) but chose to follow the will of the Father (Matt 4:1-11). Therefore, consider and be impressed with Jesus.

Update on New England CEF. What impresses you? Ryan challenges us to question whether we are more impressed with God or the world. Our identity is tied to what impresses us. The Word of God calls us to imitate Christ and serve one another (Mk 10:35-45). No one is better to qualified to run your race than you, and we do this by fixing our eyes on Jesus (Eph 2:10). Love is a call to action, so therefore love one another. By this, the world will know that you are His disciples (Jn 13:35).

Update on Child Evangelism Fellowship in Norwich, CT and RI. Our identity is Christ—not our occupation, family, or wealth. We must prioritize our life according to our identity in Him and that which is well pleasing to God. The three temptations of Christ covered.

Ryan Baker 2

Jun 4, 17

Whereas every human life has value because we have been created unique in God's image, our identity depends upon our relationship with God. The unbeliever's identity is with sin and death; the believer's identity is in Christ. Love is defined in Jn 3:16, and those in Christ are to imitate that love.

Resurrection Day 2 - The Son

Apr 21, 19

Art continues his Sonship study by examining the fulfillment of the Davidic prophesy (Acts 13:33), the superiority of the Son (Heb 1:5), and the royal priesthood of the Messiah (Heb 5:5). He ends in Revelation with phrase, "My Son's name shall be on their foreheads" (22:4)," the culmination of the Davidic covenant. The promises that were given to David are no less our sure mercies today. Lesson concludes with a quick recap of the Hurtado Foundation.

Resurrection Day 1 - The Son

Apr 21, 19

Art discusses the power the phrase "You are My Son" (Ps 2:7, Acts 13:33, Heb 1:5, 5:5) as seen throughout history. He begins with the eschatological significance of the Davidic descendancy/covenant (2 Samuel 7:8-17), then reviews the Lord Jesus Christ's undeniable Sonship (Ps. 2:7). The Lord's Sonship was ordained by God the Father in eternity past. When you look on the face of Jesus Christ, you are looking on the face of His father.

Judges 2 - Deborah and Barak

Apr 14, 19

Study of Deborah and Barak. Art takes a deeper dive into the details described in Judges 4-5. We see Deborah rise up to lead the Israelites into battle when other men falter. We then review specifics of the battle, including Barak's hesitation, the role of Heber the Kenite, God's divine intervention, the death of Sisera, and most importantly God's faithfulness. In spite of His people's failures and because of His unwavering love, He did not turn His back on them. Neither will He turn His back on us.

Judges 1 - Deborah and Barak

Apr 14, 19

Study of Deborah and Barak. Art begins with a review of Israel's cycle of sin as seen in Judges. After falling away from the Lord and into despair and oppression, the Israelites eventually cry out to the Lord for deliverance. We then compare the two accounts of Israel's victory over Canaan described in Judges 4-5. The narrative prose in ch. 4 is followed by a poetic victory hymn in ch. 5. In both versions we see that despite Israel's unfaithfulness, God is faithful to lead Israel to victory.

Faisal shares why our prayers matter. The harvest is great in Pakistan with a 98% Muslim population. He describes what life is like for the small percent of Christians and the terrible persecution they face. Ex 1:12: Like the Jews, the more the Pakistani Christians are oppressed, the more they grow. God is reaching them through Bibles, Bible conferences, leadership/pastor training, and youth outreach. Faisal concludes with an update on their Grace Academy School.

Presented by Mr. Craig Northcott, Pastor Clay Ward’s brother-in-law and the District Attorney for the Tullahoma, KY area. As a divinely established institution (Gen. 9:6), government was created by God to restrain evil and promote righteousness according to His standards. The qualities we should seek from leaders are those produced by the Spirit including moral excellence, humility, and one who hates dishonest gain. The local church's role is to train men who are prepared to serve in governmental positions. When the local church fails, because it is the corner stone of the divine institutions, government fails. Jon and Valerie Brown - 2017 Report

Sep 10, 17

A resourceful and proficient people, the Yanomami may at first appear to be living in harmony with nature. But did you know that revenge and violence are prevalent in their culture and they have no word for "forgiveness"? They practice animism, witchcraft, and polygamy. Jon and his family are devoted to bringing the light of God's Word to the Yanomami in the Amazonian region of northern Brazil.

Jon Brown - 2015 Report

Jul 12, 15

There is more to the Yanomami than they are a primitive people proficient at living off the jungle. Their society is plagued with problems of alcoholism, promiscuity, violence, and black magic. But, as Jon tells, the solution is not in building relationships, education, or programs. The only thing that is changing the lives of these indigenous people is God's word. Systematic Bible teaching is proving to have a tremendous impact on the community.
