An Independence Day Message from Pastor Inghram

Dear Members of the Body of Christ,

As we observe Independence Day and celebrate the significance of what it has meant to Americans for more than two centuries, John Adams, one of the authors of our Declaration of Independence and second president, said, “… the day ought to be commemorated as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty.” Adams acknowledged that the establishment of our nation and newfound liberty was from “God Almighty.” Adams could make that statement because he lived during the hardships of that time and he attributed our success and independence to God’s deliverance.

The American nation sprang from the culture found in the world at that time, but the founders knew that this nation must continue to follow the God that had established it. Over the years God has blessed and elevated America to become one of, if not the most, remarkable nation in human history. We live in a fallen world and we will never achieve perfection—that is reserved for God’s kingdom in the future. Yet, through God’s guidance and despite ebbs and flows in our history, we have progressed and continued to be blessed. This Independence Day we must remember the source of our blessings. We also must remember to celebrate the day and season “with Devotion to God Almighty.”

America, by His Matchless Grace,

Pastor Dan Inghram
