One Verse, Three Voices: A Look into God’s Unity

By - Pastor Freddy Cortez, National Capital Bible Church

John 14:26 (NKJV)
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

1. God in Perfect Harmony

  • God works in complete unity. The Father sends the Spirit, and He does so in the name of the Son.

  • This isn’t chaos—it’s harmony. Each Person of God works together with love and purpose.

  • For us, it’s a model of how true unity looks: different roles, same heart, same goal.

2. Each One Plays a Role

  • God doesn’t act randomly. The Father leads, the Son gives authority, and the Spirit follows the mission.

  • Though their roles differ, their value doesn’t.

  • In a world obsessed with position, God shows that purpose and partnership matter more than rank.

3. One Purpose, One Voice

  • When Jesus says the Spirit comes "in My name," He’s saying, “He represents Me perfectly.”

  • The Spirit continues the mission of Jesus with perfect loyalty.

  • It means we can trust that the Spirit always points us to Christ, never away from Him.

4. A God Who Teaches and Guides

  • God didn’t leave us alone to figure things out.

  • The Spirit doesn’t just comfort us—He teaches us, helping us understand and apply Jesus' truth.

  • His guidance is daily, personal, and vital.

 5. A Book You Can Trust

  • The Bible isn’t a book of ancient guesses.

  • The Holy Spirit helped the writers remember exactly what Jesus said.

  • We can open the New Testament and know it’s accurate, clear, and complete.

6. A Relationship, Not a Religion

  • God invites us into something personal.

  • We can talk to the Father, through the Son, and with help from the Spirit.

  • That’s not a system of rules—it’s a living connection.

7. Truth That Lasts

  • The same truth spoken by Jesus is protected by the Spirit.

  • God’s message hasn’t changed with time or culture.

  • That’s why the Bible can be trusted—it's steady and true.

8. Learning That Changes You

  • God isn’t just an idea to study. He’s Someone to know.

  • The Spirit helps us grow not just through knowledge but through experience.

  • His truth shapes our lives from the inside out.

9. A Message That Stays Clear

  • Jesus spoke once, and His message still echoes today through the Spirit.

  • His words don’t need updating—they’re already perfect.

  • The Church's job is to preserve and share them, not revise them.

10. A Presence That Never Leaves

  • Jesus may not be here in person, but He hasn’t left us.

  • The Spirit lives in every believer, offering help, peace, and strength.

  • God is always near—and that changes everything.

Final Thought:
This one verse, John 14:26, isn’t just a theology lesson. It’s a promise. It tells us we are loved, taught, guided, and never abandoned. The Trinity isn’t an idea—it’s our reality, our help, and our hope.
