Doctrinal Statements

Tenets

The following tenets shall be adhered to by NCBC and its members:

  • NCBC shall not at any time become a member, sanction, or support any denomination, association of churches, or any national or international religious organizations such as the National Council of Churches or the World Council of Churches.

  • NCBC shall not solicit anyone to become a member. Those who desire to affiliate with this church may do so by complying with the provisions of Article V.

  • NCBC shall not knowingly accept gifts from unbelievers or make individual solicitation of funds or pledges among believers.

  • NCBC shall not recognize or allow the pastor to perform same sex marriages.

  • NCBC shall not knowingly employ, place or maintain in an official position or ordain any person who is engaged in immoral behavior as described in Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1: 26-27, 1 Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-20, 1 Timothy 1:8-11, and Hebrews 13:4 but rather consider those who are living as directed in 1 Timothy 2:8-12, 3:1-13, and Titus 1:5-9. These positions include but are not limited to Pastor, Associate Pastors, Deacons, Music Director, church staff, teachers, and any other position that deals with church duties.

  • As a duly incorporated, organized local church according to the Word of God and recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia, we claim exemption from taxation and invoke the right of freedom of worship protected by the Constitution of the United States of America.

  • NCBC members shall:

    • Submit to the authority of the Pastor and the Board of Deacons in all matters regarding the local assembly.

    • Respect the privacy of other believers in thought, word, and deed.

    • Obey the policies and procedures that exist to support the ministries of NCBC.
