    Faithfulness of God. Example: Abraham and Sarah, a couple who has faith despite doubt and human mistakes (Mk 9:23; Rom 4:20-21).

    Faith. Even in the unknown, we can walk out in faith (Heb 11:8). It is not dependent on sight (Jn 20:29). Faith gives us confidence in God (1 Sam 17; Job 13:25). How faith works when sharing the gospel (Acts 28:24).

    Eternal security. Sin unto death (Jas 1:15; 5:19-20). Once saved, always saved. Once people are genuinely saved, they cannot lose their salvation (Rom 8:38-39; Jn 10:28-29; Eph 1:13-14).

    The essence of God. Who is God? The attributes of God help us to better understand Him, ourselves, and how to relate Him to others.

    The Christian way of life continued. Basic rules for the Christian life. The new commandment (Jn 13:34-35). By faith and study, you can change your habit of thinking (Phil 4:8) and be salt and light to the world (Mt 5:13-14).

    Christian vs. spiritual walk. The Christian walk involves following Christ (Jn 5:30; Mt 4:4), whereas the spiritual walk is empowered by the Holy Spirit.

  • Lesson 6 - November 1, 2023

    The Christian walk. New Testament words for "walking" (Eph 4:1-2, 2:1-3; 1 Jn 2:6). Walking in light vs. walking in darkness (Eph 5:8). God intends for us to be filled with the Spirit and learn His word. You are either walking in light, or you are not.

    The Blood of Christ (Part Two). Metonymy vs synecdoche. The blood reminds us that Jesus died a violent death (metonymy). It also represents His entire body and the sacrifice He made (synecdoche). How to access the power of His blood after salvation (1 Jn 1:7).

    The Blood of Christ (Part One). Christ's blood provides our salvation (Jn 1:12; 12:32) and can be utilized in our Christian walk (1 Jn 1:7).

    Ambassadorship continued (1 Cor 5:16-21). As ambassadors to Christ, we are entrusted to tell others the Good News, the doctrine of reconciliation. What it means to be a living epistle (2 Cor 3:1-3). Biblical spirituality (Rom 8:5-11).

    Consequences of not abiding (1 Jn 3:15, 5:20). Ambassadorship. Examples of people in the Bible who remained available to God.
